This option uses the same practical polyester fiberfill as our cotton-ticking insert, paired with a more economical polyester non-woven shell. It creates a firm, smooth, shape-holding pillow and is the only fill and ticking combination we suggest for outdoor use.
The non-woven polyester ticking makes this a useful choice for patios, porches, pool areas, rental properties, thick or opaque covers, and budget-conscious indoor or outdoor projects. The insert is not fully waterproof and should be protected from prolonged soaking when possible.

Production and Shipping Time
Most inserts are made and ready to leave our facility within 1 to 10 business days. Transit time begins after the order ships and varies by destination.
Large orders, oversized inserts, and specialty sizes may require additional production time.
Choosing the Right Pillow Insert Size
Measure your empty pillow cover from seam to seam, without the old insert inside.
For a full, designer-style appearance:
- For most rectangle covers, choose an insert 1 inch larger in both dimensions.
- When both cover dimensions are 18 inches or larger and the proportions are close to square, choose an insert 2 inches larger in both dimensions. When one side is noticeably longer than the other, size up 1 inch in both dimensions regardless of size. Very long or narrow lumbar covers may fit best at the same size, or with only the short side increased by 1 inch.
For example, pair a 12 x 20 pillow cover with a 13 x 21 polyester pillow insert for a smooth, full look. The slightly larger insert helps reduce loose fabric without making a long pillow overly tight.

What to Expect
Your polyester pillow insert may arrive compressed for more efficient shipping. Remove it from the packaging, gently fluff and reshape it, and allow time for the fiberfill to expand.
Polyester fill is designed to hold a smooth, rounded shape with less styling than down feather. It may gradually compress with use, so occasional fluffing and reshaping will help maintain an even appearance.
