We all know that pillows can make or break the decor in a room, and we like using the changing of seasons as quarterly “excuses” to switch up our pillow game! What better way to do so than with a DIY pillow projet? Spring pillow crafts are fun way to ease the boredom of rainy days and can be excellent projects for kids to participate in, too!
Plus, with only a few items needed to complete it, it’s only a matter of time before your newly create spring-themed pillows are brightening your rooms!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Felt
- Pom Poms
- Scissors
- Extra Strength Fabric Glue*
- Neutral Pillow Cover
- Pillow Insert
* You can also use hot glue, but for making this project a bit more “kid friendly”, we’re opting for the non-hot version of extra sticky glue!
WHAT TO DO:
1) Trace your felt to create a variety of shapes. Need stencils? Check out some great spring options HERE. Feeling extra creative? Skip the tracing and just begin cutting a variety of shapes in different sizes… you’ll be surprised what your creative eye will come up with!

2) Lay your canvas (or, in this case, your pillow cover!) on a flat surface and begin mapping out a game plan. Decide how you want your cut felt pieces and pom-poms placed on the pillow cover and arrange them accordingly.
3) Glue each pom-pom or felt piece one at a time, pressing down on each for about 2 seconds to help adhere well to the surface of your cover. As a precaution, try to keep the strong glue OFF of your skin!
4) Once complete, allow to dry on a flat surface for at least 2 hours.
5) Just like that, you’ve spent an afternoon using your creativity to create something fun and spring-themed for your home!
