While you wait on that order of pillows to arrive, check out a few tips we have for opening your box and "opening" your pillows. Don't delay--even though we make every pillow custom to order, we still ship out super fast!
Your box will arrive looking pretty plain. You'll have a return address and tracking labels, but not much more. This is because we ship directly to retail customers AND for other companies to their customers. Each company does things a little differently, so we don't want to confuse anyone. However, you will see that everything is taped up pretty well.
Please be careful when opening your box. We have two sets of flaps (opening alternating directions) to keep your pillow forms as safe as possible. However, if you use a knife or box cutter with too deep of a blade, you could cut through both box layers and into your pillow. We strongly recommend using scissors to carefully cut/score the tape around the top, then lifting up the flaps to cut the tape with scissors, so that you don't cut into your pillow.

Once you pull your pillow inserts out of the box, don't panic if it looks like something sat on your pillow. This is a perfectly normal part of our vacuum-sealing process. Simply cut along the loose edge of plastic (and you'll probably start hearing air seep into the package). Grab the two sides of plastic (near where you cut) and pull the plastic apart. Then your pillow will poof right up to life. (Down/Feather pillows will need a little fluffing--just like you fluff them throughout their life.)
Please note that large pillow forms (over 26" in either dimension) may not be vacuum-sealed at all due to the limitations of our compression equipment. These large pillows also may need fluffing, regardless of fill type (this is more of a consideration as the pillow gets larger).
We cannot guarantee that forms will stay compressed during shipping, especially on small orders that don't fill the box. This is because there can be a pin-prick hole somewhere that will allow air in during shipping. The best way to avoid this is to order full cases of our pillows. We can provide information on how many pillows fit in a case (as it varies by pillow size).
