Every Pillow Has a Story

Apr 4th 2018

Call us the Crazy Pillow People if you’d like, but we believe all pillows have their own story to tell.
Think about it: every single pillow in your home has its specific purpose, a reason for being a part of your decor and space.

Your bed pillow allows you to rest your head at night and carry you into deep sleep. It is the very item that allows enough comfort for you to dream. The throw pillows on the living room couch may add some color to the room, but they’re also the very ones that absorb family conversations, game nights, and the occasional rainy day Netflix binge… they’re a part of your personal living room story. Even the pillows placed in the more untouched ares of your home have their own story to share. You selected them with intention — their size, their color, their patterns — all adding something to the greater theme and flow of your home.

Sometimes though, we come across special pillows that carry pronounced memories. Perhaps it’s one from childhood that is found when unpacking old boxes, or a holiday-themed throw that, while it only appears for about a month out of each year, reminds you of the love and joy found season after season. And other times, seeing a particular pillow can spark a bittersweet memory of a loved one.

Our friend and customer Jane, owner of Maiden Jane, shared her special pillow story with us recently and we could not help but pass along. Jane used the clothing of a family friend who had passed away to create a pillow cover for one of our inserts, a beautiful, simple, and sentimental tribute.

Here are Jane's own words:

We love learning about how our inserts are brought to life through our customers' talent and creativity and seeing how each pillow's unique story unfolds from there. Have your own story to share? We'd love to hear and pass along!
